The Luck of the Crane

‘The Luck of the Crane’ tells the story of three children; Grégoire, Joseph and Denyse, growing up in rural Rwanda. Their rural idyll is shattered by the civil war that sweeps the country in 1994. The children are challenged to take sides, fight and survive. Rwanda has a tragic past but with courage and optimism its people have since prospered. ‘The Luck of the Crane’ is a work of fiction but it is based on, and inspired by, conversations with survivors of the conflict.
