The Boy by the River: A short story

A boy wonders out of a summer camp and gets lost in the woods. The night is already falling when he comes across a soldier. There is something unusual about the soldier as if he is coming from another time. The soldier provides the shelter to the boy for the night and they both feel a special bond that connects them although they come from different places and times. The story of a great friendship that takes the reader back to Yugoslavian partisans that fought the Nazis in the WW2 won a special prize by the Trieste Press Publisher and was published in their anthology.
