Well, This F**king Sucks: a no-bullshit guide to living life when your mum or dad has cancer, by someone who did
Description
One of the most annoying things about having a parent (or any family member) with cancer is how f**king humbling it is.
Even the laziest people (and I’m definitely one of them) know that, when push comes to shove, they can improve their lives if they just try.
‘If you work hard, you’ll be rewarded.’
‘You’ll get out what you put in. ‘
‘The harder you work, the luckier you get.’
In most areas of life, that’s true. But cancer? Well, cancer doesn’t play by those rules. In fact, it finds those rules adorable, in the way you might find a baby dog or a micro pig adorable.
In a literal sense, there is NOTHING you can do to stop cancer.
So, I’ve written this book. Not because I can help you stop cancer, but because I think that I can give you some real perspective on what it’s like to live in a world where one of your parents has cancer.
No BS. No patronising. No platitudes.
Just the truth of how it changed my life.
