Lure of the Haunted Island

Young Paul's life on the island is made miserable by afterschool bullies and street gang thugs. He tries valiantly to take care of his siblings as best he can; his efforts are thwarted by a dysfunctional family. His only hope for the future is his surreal relationship with a mysterious, powerful woman. She offers him opportunities he never dared to dream of, but they come at a price. Is Paul willing to sacrifice and give in to her demands? Or will he leave the island, and throw caution to the wind? A story about dignity in an unsafe environment, and about how the spirits guide us from beyond.
