(2). How to use this book?
This book has three parts:
Part 1 is the Russian-English parallel text. You can learn new Russian words and sentence patterns through comparing the Russian text with the English text paragraph by paragraph without wasting time in checking dictionaries or grammar books.
Part 2 is the Russian text alone. After reading Part 1, you can read the story again in Russian in order to test how many new words and sentence structures you have mastered.
Part 3 is the English text alone. After reading Part 1 and Part 2, you can try translating the English text into Russian, either mentally or on a piece of paper, in order to reinforce your memory.

(3). What is special about this book?
In order to give you an enjoyable and active Russian learning experience, we have designed a little challenge in this book:
In the story you are going to read there are around 100 pairs of antonymous adjectives (namely, descriptive words with opposite meanings), e.g., new vs. old, happy vs. sad, tall vs. short, big vs. small, and pretty vs. ugly.
Can you find at least 50 pairs and write down the list in Russian?
If you email your list to us, you can get the next Russian-English bilingual book for FREE!
(Our email address is on the last page of the book.)
