     It’s the Spring of 1945, and Maria Lundt is barely twenty years old. She lives in a world of darkness and fear, where Adolf Hitler runs Germany and the Nazi regime is going strong. Along with her family, Maria is pulled from her home in the middle of the night and shopped off, like cattle, to a concentration camp.

     Here, she meets a guard who is not as cruel as the others. Here, she encounters the start of what could very well be the end of the world. Parasites, born from the carbon monoxide used in the gas chambers and the filth that lingers in the camp. They have one goal: feed. It has one outcome: death.

     And in these dark hours of the night, she realizes that her only hope of survival might be one of the very guards that keeps her prisoner.
