The plot is centered on the mysterious disappearance of Amy Elliot Dunne. Events of this plot line are told early in the novel with a focus early in the novel on Nick Dunne’s perspective and actions. Later in the novel, Amy Elliott Dunne’s perspective and actions are added. A great deal of tension is created as the reader attempts to determine which perspective – Nick’s or Amy’s – is the real one. Or are they both false?
