The Hatching of Polypsychos: Volume 3 in the Death of Pat Bannon Trilogy
Description
wherein Pat is titled a magic woman by a kid, they throw rocks at someone to permanent effect, and Drumsinger does penance for it's many sins. It shows that behind the nice sheltered baby factory, there is a more 'familiar' world out there with sneaks and spies and piratical raiders, and doing something about that situation interests them more than anything else, thereby giving rise to more short stories down the road; See how this works?
Amazingly, they have stumbled through the process and managed to remain more or less sane, and recover ed all their lives- and started a firestorm of controversy by posing an ethical issue that will rage for years: what is murder for the dead? NOW they can live with the consequences of having EIGHT minds awake- well, NINE counting Splatterpaints... But they hung in there, and with a few quarrels and several funny moments- and a fair bit of kinky sex- they managed to make the grade. NOW they get to be staff for a bit and try to meet someone stranger enough to actually WANT them for a child- who does not make them want to run away screaming, 'cause that's going to have to be one VERY strange person indeed...
In effect the completing of a VERY strange ghost story, our two stumbling hero’s must find a way to win through to being suitable for eternal life, using whatever works. And having your dead wife along to nag only adds to the fun- as does her familiar spirit... And her boyfriend...
Strange, funny, beautiful, heretical, this one rubs salt in the paper cuts from the first and second books- and adds new insults to your picture of how reality works. Also, it has some decent yuks along the way. And YOU thought THE FOLK were alien- pfah!
Another mind numbing act of heresy by Largo Florida’s own (in?)famous Kirk Bailey, consulting mad man.
