Kumihimo Textile Jewellery

Kumihimo textile jewellery takes the reader through the equipment and process of creating a basic Zig - Zag braid. The Zig - Zag braid is a simple braid to make, requiring a small amount of equipment and it has unlimited potential for adaptation and enhancement. After learning the basic braid the reader is taken through a variety of minor changes to yarns and movements and additions, which result in many visually different braids that can be easily attached to a variety of shapes Further changes to the braid after completion are explored and increase the versatility of the braid. The showcasing of over 50 finished pieces of textile jewellery which includes bracelets, broaches, earrings, necklaces and stick pins shows how the braid can be easily used to create wearable jewellery.
