When Alice headed to the big city to escape a bad case of 'small-town-itus,' she'd expected to feel a little small and overwhelmed for a bit. That was natural. What wasn't so natural was waking up in her new building's laundry room and about five feet shorter. Even with the help of a fellow tenant, Rose, getting back to normal is looking like a big challenge, in all meanings of the word. Clearly, she should have stayed back east.
