Magnus Chase didn’t think that his life could change just because of one birthday. Turning sixteen and entering the world into adulthood was supposed to be fun and full of excitement. But it seems that all that was written in his destiny are struggles to fight for his life.
One morning, on the day of his sixteenth birthday, Magnus had been roaming homeless for two years after his mother was murdered. He had been sleeping in his usual spot when his homeless friend Blitzen woke him up to tell him that people were after him.
Instinctively, Magnus runs and hides from these people only to find out that they were relatives of his. Searching for answers about why people sought him, he decides to go to his Uncle Randolph’s house. Randolph finds him and asks for Magnus’ trust. Magnus’ choices were limited: trust Randolph and live another day or run on his own and get caught by the assassins set for him.
