The Devil of Dark Dreams is a Supernatural Thriller that explores the themes of superstition, belief, and friendship. Joseph is an Afghani immigrant and Muslim who is the HR officer for a busy advertising agency. The agency has just landed a project called ‘The Fuseli Account’, which will make or break the company. Problems arise when Albert, one of the main contributors to the project, becomes sick and eventually so weak that he does not show up for work. Albert is eventually found unconscious in his apartment, leading to him being placed in a psychiatric institution, with his boyfriend accused of attacking him.
However, Joseph is not convinced, and by following a few leads, he realizes that there is a supernatural explanation for what is happening. When another co-worker, Ethan suspects he is being attacked by the same creature, he decides to video himself sleeping. Joseph helps to keep watch and in the middle of the night encounters an evil spirit that feeds off human energy. Joseph confronts the demon but it escapes. The creature learns to speak human languages and seems to be able to manipulate technology for its own purposes.
Joseph tries unsuccessfully to stop the Nightmare resulting in a string of unexplained deaths. As the demon seems to becoming more powerful, Joseph must move quickly before it kills again. With the help of Ethan’s friend, Teresa, a computer’s expert and single mother, Joseph strives to prevent the Nightmare from opening the way for more of its kind to come to Earth but they are not sure exactly how to do it. Meanwhile, Joseph is questioning his own faith after the death of his wife from ovarian cancer. Alone and bereaved, this is a challenge that will make Joseph ask himself exactly what does he believe in, and ultimately lead him to the ultimate sacrifice for the safety of his friends and possibly all of humankind.
