HOOD SCHOLAR is about a young intellectual African American male escaping drug distribution and gang wars, but coincidentally find himself battling an even bloodier war in Iraq. Returning home from war he battles with psychological issues that leads to an attempted suicide; however, he's able to escape mental confinement after realizing his passion for science!
