Firstly, I would like to say that having spent a large portion of my life in England, some of my terminology is in American English, some in the Queen's English and some in just plain common English, like me.
The purpose of writing this book started as a means to try to release some of my personal pain and torment. Then it turned into a way to explain to my daughter and answer some of her many questions, as to why her life had been the way it was while she was growing up. Then as a means to teach her daughters how others are affected by the abusive control and demands of selfish, predatory people. In my case 'men' but this is not always the case.
I grew up the middle child of three. Singled out because???, but singled out none the less. My cries for help went unheeded by adults who should have protected me but turned their backs on me.
During the reading of my life thus far, PLEASE take note that you can survive and that you are not alone. IF YOU SEE YOURSELF OR OTHERS REFLECTED IN THESE PAGES. SEEK HELP. Do not suffer alone, there are good people out there who will help you.

'While growing up, life felt so unfair and restrictive. I could never understand why I wasn’t allowed to do the things all my friends and the kids at school were doing.
It is only since becoming a mother myself and realizing largely through reading this book the horrific ordeal my mum went through in her own turbulent childhood and adolescent years caused by those who were meant to nurture, guide and protect her, that has made me begin to understand why life for me was the way it was, and everything she endured solely to keep me safe and protected through my childhood years.
The strength, courage, and bravery that this woman shows each and every day are inspiring.'
The purpose of helping others has not been forgotten by me. I intend to try to do this by offering/gifting one PDF copy of my book to NON-PROFIT self help organization, to be printed at their discretion and given to any clients who the counselors deem could be help by the reading of these words. This means that for every 10 books purchased, a NON-PROFIT group will be able to avail themselves of a PDF copy to be freely distributed to the clients who might benefit from knowing that they are not alone, that others have and are going through similar painful life altering situations and are suffering as they are. And that YOU CAN SURVIVE.
