If You Aren't Getting the Miracle Answers or Healing You Need From God, or He's Gone Completely Silent in Your Life: CHANGE WHAT YOU'RE DOING!: How Sin and Compromise Stop God's Blessings Cold

Just as a new car, or sound system, or dishwasher has an owner’s manual we can consult when something needs routine maintenance or fixing, so the Lord has given each of us an exact guide to whatever needs attention or correction in our own lives. This “Human Owner’s Manual” as the Bible is aptly referred to contains God’s express will for every area of life, and offers a detailed guide to what He expects from of us at all times. Unfortunately, many pastors today preach only a bland, one-dimensional, feel-good message that concerns the prosperity of the believer, or one that centers on God’s grace or mercy alone with no mention of His judgment or our personal responsibility for sin and compromise in our lives.

Since many Christians fail to regularly read the Bible for themselves to find out what God’s attitudes and commandments toward specific sins are, and since they aren’t getting it in church, the only avenue the Lord has left open to reach them with their need to effect change in their lives is to either begin withholding answers to their prayers, or to go completely silent in order to grab their attention. All of us have experienced this heavenly “pulling away” and many are experiencing it currently, wondering all the while why God has withdrawn from them, and how they can restore the loss of intimacy and fellowship they are missing.

Many who will read this book have been praying for healing in their bodies for so long without getting an answer from the Lord that they’ve grown utterly discouraged and even bitter in their unsuccessful quest for God’s help. Others have begun to feel as if they’ve been utterly forgotten, and seem to hear nothing from heaven but silence when they pray. For those who have wrestled with why this heartbreaking lack of response from the Lord is so devastatingly present in their lives or the lives of their loved ones, I have some absolutely awesome news—help is on the way, and that hopeless situation you’ve been experiencing is just about to change!

Some of the blind spots, roadblocks, and landmines that must be dealt with before the Lord can open the windows of heaven in response to our prayers, and ones we’ll be covering in depth in this book are; anger, impatience, the damaging nature of political correctness, personal debt, negativity, faithlessness, fear, and errant sexual fantasies. We’ll also conduct a detailed examination of the spiritual consequences of disregarding traffic laws, selfishness, failure to honor and keep the Sabbath holy, refusal to tithe, worldliness, watching TV shows and movies that contain cussing and taking the Lord’s name in vain, cussing ourselves by being careless with the words “damn, hell, ass, bitch,” and other specific examples of what the Bible refers to as “corrupt communication.”
We’ll even be getting into things most pastors wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole like; failure to take a public stand against homosexuality and “gay marriage” at the workplace, lying and leaving false impressions in the minds of others, smoking, getting tattoos and piercings contrary to the Bible’s specific instruction not to, gluttony/binge eating, not reading and studying the Bible daily, failure to attend church regularly, buying lottery tickets and other forms of gambling, alcohol and prescription drug abuse, and a host of other sins and compromising behavior that cause the Lord to pull back from us.

One of the tools we’ll be using to end God’s embargo on our prayer answers will be the systematic establishment of what I call a Process of Elimination Check List of possibilities as to why God has cut off communicating with us. King David wrote, “If I regard iniquity (sin and compromise) in my heart, God will not hear me!” Just as importantly, if we harbor any form of sin or casual attitude toward iniquity in our lives, we will not hear Him! Once again, if the Lord has stopped answering our prayers, or has gone completely silent in our lives, there is a reason.
