What is this course book and who is my teacher?
In 1973 I fell in love with astrology, not the pop culture kind, the real stuff. I found a self-help tool that far surpassed anything else I had tried at a time in my life that I needed all the help I could get. As a single parent I raised my four kids and wended my way through my life lessons with the help of this marvelous tool. Along the way I got to help a bunch of people at first for free and later as a professional astrologer and teacher. I studied what I could get my hands on, out of order, with little to no help. I fell into many holes in my knowledge that I did not realize even existed. Slowly but surely I learned on my own and with the help of other astrologers and teachers as they became available. I learned the hard way so that when I became a teacher I was determined to teach in an organized fashion so my students would have a more coherent, organized lesson plan.
I taught live classes for over 35 years. My purpose was that my students could read a natal chart at the end of a 10-week class IF they worked at it and did the work as I presented it. No teacher can turn you into an astrologer, you have to do that for yourself; but...having the tools and techniques makes it so much easier. I literally have taught thousands of classes and workshops and my students can read a chart IF they follow this lesson plan.
This workbook is based on a ten-week, $150.00 comprehensive live course in the basics of astrology. You will be able to do a thorough natal reading if you follow this lesson plan. This is a workbook. In order to succeed astrologically you will need to learn and practice the content as in all other endeavors. You must do the work. By working your way through this workbook you will also create a base, a foundation on which to do the balance of your astrological studies.
Who am I to promise all that and expect that you will read sequentially and do the work?
My name is Marilyn Muir and I will be your teacher. I started teaching in 1975 in a living room in Boca Raton, Florida. Over the years I have taught all over the country, had my own television and radio programs, did lots of radio and other television and wrote a number of astrology columns for radio and for print. My astrological credentials are with the American Federation of Astrologers, Inc. in Tempe, AZ and my designation is Lifetime Professional Member. Over the intervening years I was a speaker at various astrological conferences and for astrology clubs around the country. I am now retired and am currently turning my live classes and workshops into workbooks. In 2009 my political astrology book: Presidents of Hope and Change” was published by Future Strategies, Inc. I have 112 articles published on E-zine online, 37 articles on All Things Healing.com and numerous articles online or in print for AFA including the yearly journal.
Just so you know, I am a Scorpio Sun with Gemini Rising. I am a communicator (Gemini), but I offer you depth in knowledge (Scorpio). This course is just that, a full workbook course on the basics of astrology. I expect that you are not a dilettante at astrology and are willing to work to learn your craft. If you are looking for an evening’s entertainment or a quick read through, this workbook and this teacher are not for you.
