Description
The 27constellations (Nakshatra’s) find its place in Vedas in Indian mythology of Hindus. According to Matsya Purana, King Daksha had 27 daughters who were married to Moon and later they were referred to as the Nakshatra’s. These Nakshatra’s are none other than the wife of Moon. The constellation name which we will refer in this material resembles the name of each wife of Moon. It has also been mentioned in the Purana that Rohini Constellation was considered to be the favourite wife of Moon.
According to Indian Vedic Astrology, the wheel of Zodiac are considered to be of 360 degrees. There are nine planets and each planet have been assigned a constellation or nakshatra. These nakshatra are positioned in the Zodiac of 360 degrees and as a result each of them occupies 13°-20' in the zodiac (360° divided by 27). This 13°-20' is the distance, which Moon travels in one day.ime taken by Moon to travel.
Now, further these constellations of 13°-20' are divided into four equal pada’s or quarters which is equivalent to 3°-20'. Each such sub division of the constellation has been assigned a seeding sound, which will be dealt with in another series for the benefit of the readers.
The constellation zodiac is rich in symbolism and meaning, and provides a framework for seeing the relationship of human life to the cosmos. In Astrology, an astrologer mainly refers to the Constellation as the ‘Birth Star’ which means the constellation lord in which Moon is placed.

It is said in Vedic Astrology that a well positioned Birth Star is considered to be auspicious with respect to name, fame, power, position and prestige whereas an ill-placed birth star may ruin the life of native from riches to rags.
