The Mirage of a Man

In The Mirage of a Man, Hasu August tells the story of Fan Fay, an Australian of Chinese origin and a seemingly perfect career man, devoting his mortal life to his immortal love for a wrong person.

Fan, now dead, left his 'confession', through a psychologist whom he visited while he was alive, to Yun, a woman who was a tower of strength once in his life. The confession reveals a secret kept with an enchanting pool hall, which was built by him and Ken, a Japanese man living out his dream in Shanghai; the secret, which raised Fan to euphoria and reduced him to despair, contained a journey of loving and struggling, despite the fragility of life, despite no fine destination to be guaranteed...
