Chemical Bonding: The results of electrostatics and electromagnetics acting within and among atoms
Description
This lecture highlights the importance and utility of Coulomb's Law and Gauss's Principle regarding radially symmetric charge density. With these tools and Slater's integrals, which apply these laws to multi-electron atoms, we can understand electronic configuration of atoms, ionic bonding, covalent bonding, metallic bonding and even certain nuclear processes. Useful quantitative calculations can also be easily made.
