Description

The construction of a wireless multimedia & mesh ad-hoc network needs to

outdoor condition. This paper presents contribution to address the system design
aspects of a multimedia enabled network based on IEEE 802.11g ad-hoc mode.
There are distinct differences between indoor and outdoor environment and
penetrating he walls stressed the system limit of the 802.11g ad-hoc mode.
Therefore, routing decisions should be made intelligently with the environmental
respect to maximize the bandwidth support on the end-to-end paths.
One of the biggest issues in routing is providing adequate connectivity
whiles calling the network. IEEE 802.16 employs TDMA (Time Division Multiple
Access) as the access method and the policy for selecting scheduled links in a
given time slot will definitely impact the system performance. We propose a
collision-free centralized scheduling algorithm for IEEE 802.16 based Wireless
Mesh Networks (WMN) to provide high-quality wireless multimedia services. We
design a relay strategy for the mesh nodes in a transmission tree, taking special
considerations on fairness, channel utilization and transmission delay
