By the end of the 21st century, the world is on the verge of a great social transformation. The Global Alliance, the only remaining superpower, has created the Zolarian Spire — a megalithic transmitter capable of eliminating the free will of everyone mentally linked to it. By destroying this fundamental human trait, the world will finally reach Utopia.

While the Alliance prepares to implement its final solution, young street rat Max Zander dreams of escaping the overcrowded slums of old New York. The only way out for him is to work as a bounty hunter, arresting political enemies of the Alliance. Unfortunately, his pesky conscience mucks up his only shot at a better life. In a fateful act of mercy, he allows the fugitive Zoe Chacon, an aging war veteran, to go free. Because he sacrificed a lucrative bounty, he earns the ire of his ruthless employer. Desperate to clear his name, he reluctantly accepts help from the last person he would’ve expected — Zoe. Their uneasy partnership will entangle them in the bloody crusade of General Emil Pavel, a legendary resistance commander driven by vengeance.

To survive the craziness, Max must not only overcome his differences with the straitlaced Zoe, but also help Pavel use any means necessary to stop the Global Alliance from activating the Spire and enslaving the human race.

Inspired by the works of Robert Heinlein, Arthur C. Clarke, and Joe Haldeman, UTOPIAN FUBAR is a satirical cyberpunk tale of a world turned upside down, told against a backdrop of war, social persecution, and the dangers of forced human evolution.
