Cancer for me was a huge wake-up call in my journey to transform my life and live my dreams. As you know, it is not easy at times to understand why we become afflicted with a life-threatening illness. It can be even more difficult to listen to ourselves and our inner wisdom when we are facing pressure from doctors and loved ones who are afraid that we will die if we do not do what they want us to do.
Please know that I am not telling you not to listen to them. You must. You must also, and more importantly, listen to yourself, and stand up for yourself.
In my book, I share with you how I slowly acquired the wisdom to do this kind of deep listening. Much of it came from my work helping AIDS patients in the 80s--wonderful men who taught me so much about what it means to live, truly live.
Using Naturopathic treatment as a cornerstone to support the healing process, I lived an active life with cancer. I learned that in every moment I had to choose to live life fully, and to love myself, including the cancer in the body. This is not the advice you will probably hear from your caregivers if you take the standard Chemo and Radiation path. It is, however, the true key to healing.
This is a very personal story, and I was of course somewhat shy about sharing it. That all changed when a dear friend of mine died not of cancer, but of the treatment she underwent. This happens all too frequently, and in my book I share with you my experiences not only as a cancer patient but as an insider in an NIH study that opened my eyes to the misinformation and skewed agendas in the world of cancer care. I promise that you will be shocked, and I hope that you, like I am, will be committed to spreading the good news about cancer treatments that have unbelievable success rates.
