About God he says:
"Man from the beginning has been seeking to worship someone precisely in the pursuit of happiness, not in vain; and we see this when we live the greatest misfortunes in life that we only seek God because it is what gives us strength to go on, and at that time neither money, nor love, nor friendship, nor philosophy are capable to console the soul".
