To A Different Drummer
Description
This novel anticipates the future discovery of significant human life extension and addresses the implications that may complicate its implementation. The story follows a group of 1960’s college educated youth who are among that small fraction who rejected mainstream culture in favor of commune life to focus on social and self-development goals. This science-oriented group pursues their research interests and discovers a life extending mechanism as a consequence of events rather than a deliberate intention. Faced with this development, the group that has chosen to isolate themselves is, ironically, forced to consider the worldwide implications of perhaps the greatest scientific breakthrough of the century. The experiences of the characters and their inclinations shape the choices they make.
