Jack Padgett is a military spouse who watches his wife deploy the same day he gets a teaching job. While he wants to change the world he learns very quickly the hardships a first-year teacher in North Carolina faces, especially when he is diagnosed with brain cancer. His faith is tested as he learns his wife is critically injured while deployed. He now has to juggle his secret cancer, his wife’s injuries, and his thankless job as a teacher.
