A Paradigm Shift on Perception of Money


1Titus 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
To say money is now being worshiped as “God” today is an understatement. Churches, Government, Corporate Organizations, Non- Profit Organizations, Families, individual’s acceptability of money is universal.
This is so very good for rapid economic development and even the spreading of Gospel. However, the role and place of money gradually is taking place of pride that it is now synonymous with VALUE. This where the problem started. The world began to assess the value of everything in money terms, including human soul.
Mark 8:36. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
Money is a means, while value is the end. The duo has become inseparable today, hence the world cannot rest again from financial related crimes such as armed robberies, graft, theft, money rituals, lies, drug trafficking, among others.
As believers in the end times, we should be aware that we must not be caught in this dragnet of unlimited want of money. We must focus on the value rather than store house of value (money).This is the only way we can be god to money rather than the other way round.
Remember, in Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
The question today is why is our quest to acquire wealth always hang around having plenty money. Why is it not around the how much we know about the basis of wealth as stated in the scripture above? Why is it not about our dependence on God to give us innovation to solve nagging problem about our environment.
Little wonder the difference between the poor country today and the rich is the amount of attention they pay to understanding their environment.
Should the prayer of the church be more blessing in terms of money or more Knowledge, wisdom and power of God?
It will be good to go back to the basis and consider what God the Son-Christ, taught us about money.
Which one do you choose?-God the Son or god the money?
