Description
Discover The Journey of How A Single Person Beat Stuttering To Be The 'Best Speaker' In All Areas of Life
This book is just my personal account of how I dealt with stuttering and how I beat it at its own game. It will take you through the roller coaster ride of how I became the ‘best speaker’ during my MBA days and how my overconfidence became a major hurdle to speak freely; how I started giving spiritual lectures to how I got the audacity to flirt with the opposite sex. Many more interesting anecdotes with regards my speech are contained in this book.
Stuttering, or stammering, can be a very puzzling disorder; neither your near ones take it seriously and nor can you explain to them how difficult it is for you to speak. In fact, stuttering has not got the same amount of coverage or importance as other disabilities have got over the decades – namely, physical disability, mental challenge or visual impairment.
Just imagine, a very normal person, is reduced to being a mere robot without the proper speech software. Even though he can speak, he is not able to control it or even assure its fluency. Stuttering is thus, one of the most mysterious disorders ever known to mankind and to science; but despite being so, it is still not prioritized on par with other disorders for its rectification.
Hence, most of the stutterers, i.e. 70 million around the world, have to find their own methods to deal with their condition and come to a compromise with it.
My story is somewhat like this. Though at times I became frustrated or just disappointed with my stuttering, never did I relegate myself to my fate that I will forever be a stutterer. In fact, if any, it was this fear of not being able to speak well for the rest of my life that led me to take on more challenges – even from the perspective of a non-stutterer – and a determination that since I have this speech impediment, I’m going to be the best speaker.
I’ve written this book not as a guide but a story of a stutterer who went from stuttering to being the ‘best speaker’; in the hope that stuttering does not have to be the ‘be all and end all’ of life, and that one’s life is way too great to be bothered by the so-called disorder called ‘stuttering’.
