Regency Romance: The Duke's Forbidden Love

When Emma is a little girl she meets James. He's shooting rabbits in the woods that belong to her father's estate. She takes pity on him and feeds him cake in a secret meeting.

She doesn't meet him again until he returns from the war he's been fighting in America. Happy to see each other they begin to meet and fall in love.

The problem is Emma's father wants her to marry his business partner. When Emma refuses, he tries to kill James.

When Emma runs away she is led on a journey of despair which takes her to the darkest of places.
