Ware shows a classic plot - a character claiming foul play while everyone else a victim denies it ever existed - still works. The cruise offers a full claustrophobic atmosphere with secret corridors, stairways and passages, adding deliciously disturbing scene for each character. What is a researcher refreshing texture without secret detective skills or propeller, available other than journalism experience? As if that were not enough, his drinking habit will leave readers wondering who they can trust. The first chapter grabs ones attention, forcing one against a wall and keep it there until the end.
