No matter what challenge you face in life confidence is needed. Whether it be attending your first interview, going for a promotion or meeting new people, a certain level of confidence is required to bring you through.

We all battle with confidence issues, shying away from what we want, for what is easy or feels comfortable. The problem with not facing up to things means that we are never truly satisfied. When it comes to facing our fears, we can feel alone, inside our heads, running over all the reasons why we are not strong enough, intelligent enough, fit enough.

When we doubt ourselves, thinking that we are not good enough for the job, not good enough to pass the exam, or don't begin a conversation because we believe the person will not like us. Then we doubt God’s plan for our life; we doubt that God is in control.

We often choose to walk away from the light, as the darkness can feel safer, no one can see us, no one can judge us, we blend in with everyone else. We look back at those in the light; wishing to be more like them.

As a result, the connection to God is broken; we get nervous, afraid, shy, jealous, depressed or angry. This leads to thoughts like I will never measure up, I will never achieve what I desire.

If only you had the confidence that the job would be yours if it is part of your destiny. If only you had the confidence that you would get the grades to attend the course, that is right for you. If only you had the courage to speak to anyone you wanted, with the knowing that if they are part of your future, there would be a connection.

In this book, I will share with you knowledge, stories, and references to scripture that will help you to gain that confidence. We can be so focused on trying to be like others; we can easily neglect the seeds of greatness that lie dormant within. I will discuss how to discover and nurture these seeds, so you excel and radiate true confidence.

As the seeds begin to grow, people and relationships get drawn to you, rather than you searching for them. When you learn to surrender completely to God and let go of the illusion of control, the confidence that you will gain will allow you to achieve more in one year, than in the last ten.
