Life has been peaceful in the land of WWEsteros for many years, but trouble is brewing that will change the world forever. The sinister and filthy rich McMahonnister family is plotting against the king, and with all of the ruler's other allies dead, it falls to Brettard Hart to take up the mantle as the Face of WWEsteros and save the kingdom from certain anarchy.

Other dangers are afoot elsewhere: Dixie Carteryan is to be married off to the deadly Ki Lowgo for the sake of her brother's grand ambitions of conquest, Brettard Hart's illegitimate son Jon Show seeks an escape from the life of humiliation he's suffered at home by joining the Evening Watchers at the Cliff, Lord Bret's daughter is to be married off to the king's vile son Bischoffrey, and a mysterious band of warriors has emerged from a thousand year slumber to destroy the unsuspecting civilizations of the world...with ball peen hammers.
