THE IMPLEMENTATION OF QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND ITS STRATEGY

As with any other aspect of business and running a company, the importance of quality management cannot be over stressed (Clevenson, 2001). Quality management can be described as management activities and functions which are focused on the determination of quality policy and its implementation through means like quality assurance, quality planning and quality control (CQI, 2011). Total Quality management ensures the effective and efficient design of processes which meet customer needs, plan product life cycle and design, produce and deliver the product or service (James, 1998). Having good quality management system results in eventual cost reductions, improves management efficiency, makes internal operations more effective and efficient, enhances problem solving skills of the staff, increases employee morale amongst other benefits (Summers, 2009).Moreover, this research aims to offer recommendations on the improvement of the way this managerial tool is used to further attain success and a competitive advantage in the international market, as well as other tools and principles which Fuson Nigeria can use in order to excel to even greater heights.
