A marriage at the tip of a shotgun was not what Nola Chesterfield wanted, nor could Barton Green avoid it. But what transpired that fateful night could not be anticipated by anyone. Barton was rendered despondent. He uttered not a word as he drank himself into a stupor and watched as a ghost plummeted to her death night after night.

New York City, late fall, 1929. Jonathan Green has lost his fortune in the stock market crash, save a small stipend set up for him by his parents in a Swiss bank in trust in Central Illinois. Once a spectacle of grandeur, the land is now devoid of life and sentenced to eternal winter, cursed by a violent spirit exacting revenge. The only person who knows what happened years ago now resides in a sanatorium.

Jonathan was warned not to stay by a mysterious caretaker. But he’d lost everything and has no choice now, he must go back. But what was he going back to?
