Mr. Death Beckons

The story of Musombi and Nanguti who meet as teenagers in the early 1900's in western Kenya. We follow their lives through the ages until the 1980's. A monogamous relationship, in a climate of open polygamy, that lasts a lifetime. The tale begins as an elderly Musombi is haunted by Death - a shadowy figure that beckons him.
Flashbacks take us back to his youth when he first meets the feisty Nanguti. Circumcision, Courtship, marriage, children, and loss are experienced through the lives of this couple as Kenya goes through colonization and independence.
They struggle with adherence to their culture while trying to incorporate Christianity into their lives.
Mr. Death Beckons is a story of true love, perseverance, assimilation and faith.
