Neurosurgeon Dr. Tykill Harrison vowed never to have children after being sexually abused while in the foster system for fear that he may one day become like his abuser.

While attending a conference he encounters a mother and her daughter. Upon discovering the woman is forced to give up her child because she is dying a voice from his past reminds him of what may await the little girl.
