Simoree McGuire feels like she has been a mother forever, has had to be strong forever. Becoming a mother to Samir at the age of thirteen meant sacrificing her childhood for his. Her dreams of dancing across the stages of Juilliard ended abruptly when her mother made her drop out of school to take care of her son. By the age of twenty-six Simoree’s life was at a standstill. Still living at home with her mother, unable to get a good job due to her lack of education she packs up Samir and heads to New York City, with hopes to finally pursue her dreams!

Malikhi Saunders also known as “Khi” was born and raised in the rough streets of the city that never sleeps. He was known as one of the most ruthless men to all who knew him. When he stumbled across Samir in the hood he was reminded of how he used to be. Trying to take young Samir under his wing and show him there is more to life than the streets comes with a complication by the name of Simoree. Khi is faced with an angry mother who wants him out of her son’s life. But what happens when he figures out he wants to be a part of her life too?
