By the Hands of Men, Book Two: Charlotte Through the Ocean of Fire

A heart-broken nurse hunting for her family. A nation ravaged by civil war. Can Charlotte ever return home or will she find only death and misery?

Having lost so much during the War to End All Wars, Nurse Charlotte Braninov flees England and returns to Russia. A perilous trip to seek the only family that remains to her takes the young woman deep into the heart of a battle for the future of her nation. Enslaved by the Red Army, she experiences the inhumane reality of living under the control of a totalitarian regime, even as she is hauled from the front lines to a makeshift hospital.

Surrounded by the butchery of the People's Revolution, she discovers the decency of her fellow captives. Together, they must fight against starvation, power-hungry communist bureaucrats, and the feared secret police just to survive. Will the insanity of the Bolsheviks engulf her or can Charlotte win the contest for both her life and her soul?
