The Selfless Pickpocket Girl (Diary of Family Girls) (Victorian Saga Romance)

Pickpocket is not a life she wants, but it is what she needs to do to feed her blind sister…

Genevieve Tucker is a mere twelve years old when her mother dies, leaving her alone to care for her blind sister, Bridget. Desperate and out of options, Genevieve takes to pickpocketing in the streets of Manchester.

When she is introduced to Judson, a secretive and powerful street gang, Genevieve believes she and her sister have found a new home. But she soon discovers that Judson is not all that he seems.

Years later, trapped in a life of petty crime and poverty, Genevieve constantly seeks to make a better life for her sister.

As the weather turns cold, Genevieve discovers that the struggle for a better life has become eclipsed by a struggle for survival. And she has one more mouth to feed – a homeless orphan girl, Lilly.

Genevieve’s pickpocketing life led her to violent strangers, rabid dogs amid her false circle of friends. But another more alluring danger is yet to come – the tall and intelligent Inspector Frederick Thompkins.

Frederick, the new inspector in town, is bent on sweeping the streets clean of crimes, including pickpockets.

At a time when Frederick is watching Genevieve’s pickpocketing stint, Judson is threatening to put Bridget and Lilly to work on the streets, if Genevieve fails to bring him more money.

Can Genevieve find freedom for her sisters and herself?
Where will Frederick stand – arresting Genevieve for pickpocketing or rescuing her from the Judson gang?
