IDC Survey: Which Mobile Phone Features Consumers Have, Use, and Want
Book Details
Description
This IDC study, utilizing the results of IDC's Which Mobile Phone Features Consumers Have, Use and Want Survey (fielded in the fall of 2008), takes a look at the features found on mobile devices. We asked our survey participants which features they had on their mobile phone, which ones they used, and which ones they wish they had and how important they were. In addition, we asked how willing our respondents were to purchase a phone with the features they wanted, and if they were willing to change service providers to get the phone they wanted.
"Features on mobile phones have pushed the limits of what a mobile phone can do. The heart of the device is still centered on voice communication, but features have added to the device's appeal and utility. However, not all features have enjoyed the same warm reception. This is something for mobile phone vendors to consider when designing a device and for mobile phone retailers when selling a device," says Ramon T. Llamas, senior research analyst with IDC's Mobile Devices Technology and Trends program. This book may contain less than 24 pages of technical content.
