From the supplier: A survey of small commercial North Carolina banks' implementation of strategic decisions revealed that banks which experienced fewer problems during the process were more likely to succeed. More than 50% of surveyed banks experienced 12 specific implementation problems, but only four problems distinguished high-success institutions from their low-success counterparts. Results also suggested that undertaking a highly formalized planning process offered little benefit to presidents of small banks.
