From the supplier: Patrons of two independent hardware stores in Chicago, IL, were willing to shop at the stores for a number of reasons. Convenience and time are the overriding reasons why people buy at these stores. Customers were willing to pay 15 to 17% more than buy at the least-expensive outlets in the market. Both stores have downtown locations and perform better than strip mall stores. Shoppers are not charged extra for having easy and enjoyable shopping experiences but these are standard come-ons in the stores.
