Meet Karma, the twenty-year-old mother of an autistic five year-old. When Karma's baby father abandons her she is forced to raise her little girl on her own. To make matters even worse she has to care for her wheelchair bound mother and delinquent sister. Working as a motel maid while in school to get her nursing degree adds an extra layer of pressure. And just when her world couldn't get any worse, her baby daddy Omar strikes again. Will Karma get out of her rut and make Omar pay or will she continue to let him drag her down.

Daenerys also known as Dani is Karma's best friend. Together they work at the busted down motel, The Diamond, where they clean after filthy guests. Just like Karma, Dani has her own trash baby daddy to deal with. The only difference is, he lives with her but is more of a burden than a blessing. Her baby daddy Kalif is unemployed and abusive ever since he came back home from fighting in war. Too afraid to leave him, she stays and endures the pain.
