He gets into an argument with Shakra, believing that The American Sanctuary just want to offer their help. Amity, and the rest of The Four Elementals, are later possessed by Remnants. Amity is an Elemental. Anton Shudder is the owner of The Midnight Hotel. He was in the group called The Dead Men during the War, along with Skulduggery Pleasant, Ghastly Bespoke, Erskine Ravel, Dexter Vex, Saracen Rue, Larrikin and Hopeless. He was very serious about the missions, and the other Dead Men only saw him smile once while on a mission, when Larrikin gave him a "birthday cake". According to Dexter, Shudder isn't much of a hugger. Anton was first seen at The Midnight Hotel, where he ignored warnings about someone trying to release the Remnants from Skulduggery. Billy-Ray Sanguine checks in, and when Skulduggery threatens to beat him up, Shudder says that guests can't be harmed. Later on, the Zombie Horde attack.
