Planets of the Solar System: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Dwarf and Extrasolar Planets

The nine planets of the Solar System are subjects of great fascination and endless study. For all we have learned about the planets, there is much more yet to be discovered and, as our knowledge increases, we must sometimes reconsider what we thought we knew (as in the case of Pluto being reclassified as a dwarf planet). This book discusses the eight planets of the solar system, as well as dwarf and extrasolar planets. The definition of a planet, and the intricacies and difficulties of coming to a working definition is also discussed.
