This Manual is composed of several volumes, each containing its own purpose, and administratively reissues DoD 6055.09-STD. The purpose of the overall Manual, is to establish explosives safety standards for the Department of Defense. These standards are designed to manage risks associated with DoD-titles ammunition and explosives (AE) by providing protection criteria to minimize serious injury, loss of life and damage to property.
