10G Ethernet Market Trends

Ethernet has emerged as the most dominant networking technique at the desktop, in server farms, and recently in enterprise backbone networks. Vendors are now pushing the technology into the Wide Area Network with the adoption of standards that boost Ethernet's top transmission speed from 1G bps to 10G bps. Whether or not this foray will be as successful as previous efforts to wedge the technology into new niches is unclear, but interest in this high-speed option is growing.
