Technology Chain Management: State of the Marketplace

Technology chain management (TCM) is software used by IT departments to automate the business processes of daily work. TCM improves efficiency, enables faster turn-around on projects, and helps control workflow. Components can be as simple as generating automatic e-mails to managers when approvals are needed, or as complicated as assigning comparative values to different IT projects for prioritization. Technology chains are not limited to internal business practices; modeled after the supply chain management model, they can allow corporations and their trading partners to work together on e-business initiatives.
