The Promise of Voice and Video over VPNs

The promise of delivering voice and multimedia communications over data lines continues to tantalize service providers, equipment manufacturers, and customers alike. This interest has not translated into a great number of implementations of voice and video over data, however, as concerns about quality remain a roadblock. While running voice and video over VPNs appears to be an even more improbable goal, new technology developments are giving many industry players reason to believe that the idea is not as far fetched as it seems.
