From the supplier: Interactive media offers a new approach to education by mimicking the functions of human thought processes. Just as the mind can switch from one branch of thought to a related yet distinct experience, hypermedia can provide rapid hyperpath connections between related subject materials. By using the technology of the 'hot button,' for example, a highlighted word or concept in a lesson can be augmented with associated material such as voice-overs, graphics or motion video. The result is that students are empowered to branch out on their own, expanding their knowledge. Interactive multimedia technology provides a means of re-energizing the classroom environment, and holds the potential both for motivating marginal or 'at-risk' learners and transforming the attitudes of teachers.
