From the supplier: As director of the Teacher Explorer Center in East Lansing, MI, Fred D'Ignazio has worked with 7,000 teachers, instructing them in the theory and method of multimedia-based education. He stresses the artificiality of the prevailing educational mind-set by which students work and learn alone and are verified by the instructor on a one-on-one basis. His center tries to teach a collaborative, team-oriented approach to the educational experience, in which the teacher functions as a facilitator and manager of the learning process. It is important for teachers to realize that do not need to be intimidated by computer technology, or even by the prospect of students being more technically adept than they are. The multimedia environment can be one in which students are empowered to take responsibility for the learning process.
